Meet your Principal

Hello!!  My name is Leticia Fry.  I have been in the Liberal R-II School District since the 2000-2001 school year.  I love the small school atmosphere and we have some of the best teachers in the state of Missouri here! Our students are blessed!

I grew up in Southeast Kansas, in a small community near Altamont, Kansas.  I attended Labette County High School in Altamont, where I was involved in volleyball and basketball.  I earned my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education degree, with a minor in Special Education, from Pittsburg State University in 1994.  Go Gorillas!!  I got my first teaching job at Golden City and taught 4th grade for two years.  I then took at job at Lamar Middle School, where I taught reading for 3 years, in the 6th grade.  My final year of teaching, I moved to Lamar West Elementary and taught 4th grade.  During my time at Lamar Middle School, I attended Missouri State University (SMSU at the time) and received my Masters in School Administration.  And finally, I received my Educational Specialist in Administration from Pittsburg State University.

I have been married to Harvey Fry, a retired teacher for 33 years.  We have 3 daughters, Bryanna Warner, Kaycia Frieden and MaKayla Fry.  Bryanna is a K-5 Elementary Librarian in the Independence, MO School District, and her husband, Luke, teaches PE at Plaza Heights Christian Academy in Blue Springs, MO.  They have two sons, Chase (6 years old) and Cade (3 years old).  They live in Grain Valley, MO.  Kaycia attended Liberal from 4th grade-High School. She is employed at Leggett and Platt as a Senior Internal Auditor.  Kaycia's husband, Justin, is a combine technician at Heartland Tractor in Lamar.  They have one son, Emmett (18 months old).  MaKayla attended Liberal Schools all 13 years.  She is an accountant working at Schmidt Associates LLC in Carthage.

At Liberal Elementary, I wear a few different hats.  I oversee the operations of Puppy Paws Preschool.  I also order the textbooks for the district, as part of my duties as the curriculum director, and I oversee the operations of the Parents as Teachers Program, along with the daily operations of the elementary school.  I love this place and will forever be a Liberal Bulldog!  If there is ever anything you have questions about, please do not hesitate to come in and ask, or call the elementary office to speak with me.  I am here to serve you!
